Awesome interview with Marion Gibson, Lady Loki Cosplayer.
Khaleesi: Where are you from?
Marion Gibson: I am originally from Miami but I currently live in Orlando, the home of Spooky Empire Inc.- Horror Convention 🙂
K: Why did you start cosplaying as Loki?
MG: I started costuming and cosplaying when I began attending Spooky Empire. I decided to make an attempt at a Lady Loki cosplay because I feel it is a great character in mythology as well as in the comics. Every hero needs a villain and Loki encompasses all of the traits needed to be the bad guy everyone loves. He’s mischievous but has a heart, and has by far the best armor out of any other villain in my opinion. I found it as a challenge and took it on head first.
K: Do you role play with other cosplayers? If so, what has been the preferred scene? (from the film or invented)
MG: I can’t say that I role play with anyone else, but for the Spooky Empire Mayhem convention I created a Lady Sif costume for my best friend so we could paired.
K: Did you create any part of your outfit?
MG: I created my outfit almost completely. I made the armor out of craft foam, Worbla, and leather. The bra and loin piece is weaved scale maille, and leather done by me. And the cape I bought but added the fur and snaps myself.
K: Do you cosplay as just as Loki or also as Kid Loki, or Lady Loki?
MG:Just as Lady Loki.
K: What is your goal?
MG: My goal was to challenge myself with the building of the costume. And indeed it was challenging, but I finished it and it was a hit 🙂
K: Which is your favorite picture you’ve taken so far?
MG: My favorite picture is the one I’m holding the Tesseract and I’m looking intently into it. I wasn’t able to do a professional shoot, but still had loads of awesome pictures.
K: Which is your favorite Loki sentence?
MG: “Freedom is life’s greatest lie. Once you accept that, in your heart, you will know peace”
K: Have you ever Loki’d someone? How?
MG: I once rigged poppers to my brother’s room door, so when he opened it they went off…. It was a great success.
